It's that time of year again. Spring fever has set in and the flower and seed magazines are rolling in daily. I have big dreams every year of a dream garden with every flower in full bloom like the pictures show. My new favorite lust is Annie's Annuals website. This lady is living my dream and her garden is just how I always dreamt mine would look some day. I'd love to have a nursery like hers near me. She's a total hippie, and I love it! you can tell she loves what she does. When was the last time you saw a family owned nursery open 7 days a week until late?
Every year I try to save money growing from seed and I've had some success, but not like I had hoped. It seems that I am decent at growing those that easily come from seed like zinnias, forget-me-nots, sweet peas etc. But the great thing about Annie's Annuals is you can by the annual plant and allow it to self sow. This way you don't have to fight with germination and getting the plant big and healthy enough to produce seed for next year! What a brilliant idea. I can't wait to see if my theory works as planned. I believe it will. Think about it... You don't have to worry about when you should plant the seed, how deep...mother nature will drop them when it's just right for your area and you don't have to wait a year for blooms like some plants.
Annie are you hiring or would you like to open another location in Atlanta? Keep up the good fight mama!
